Miaomiao's Final Reflection

1.  What are some things that you have learned about effective teaching strategies when integrating technology?

This semester I learned many new things in our course. I learned how to use UDL to design lesson, I also learn how to design StAIR, moreover I learned how to include technology in my mind when I teach. I learned how to edit Wiki and how to design my personal website, etc..

2.  How did integrating web-based technologies help you think about and evaluate uses of technology?

The web-based technologies can be shared and commonly used by any person. Such as cloud computing is a new idea for me, although I heard this many times before, but I didn’t understand the exact meaning. But after this class, I understand there are so many convenient web-based technologies I not only can use, but also can devote to other people to use.

3.  How have you met your own personal goals for learning about technology integration?

I think one of my most important personal goal is to use technology more freely to help teach. Now I can say I am on my way already to my goal. I learned how to design my website to offer information to my students out of class. I know how to build up my personal wiki to introduce myself. I know how to design a class with more technologies that students can be more engaged inside. I know how to use the web-based information to enrich my teaching content. There are so many things I learned in this class help me to go towards my personal goals.

4.  Do you have any new goals? What are your plans for reaching your new goals and your long-term goals after this course is over?

Yes,I have new goals. I designed my StAIR using very long time, and also I have used it in my teaching. The students like it so much, and they learn how to say so many sentences in one class. But when I uploaded my StAIR onto MERLOT or send to the others, they all told me they could not hear any sound, and they could not watch the video. I revised my StAIR before many times, but recently I am busy with work, so don’t have time to redo it. So that is my new goal , which is to solve the problem when uploading onto MERLOT.
